Mr. Clifford Nii Amon Kotey is currently the Supervising Director of the Africa and Regional Co-operation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Co-operation and NEPAD. The Department encompasses the Africa and African Union (AU) Bureau, ECOWAS Bureau and the NEPAD Bureau.
Born on 30th March 1953, Mr. Kotey joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 22nd September 1978 as an A5 Foreign Service Officer, having obtained a BA (Honours) degree in Political Science and Modern History from the University of Ghana, Legon in 1977. a Hubert Humphrey North-South fellow at the Humphrey Institute of the University of Minnesota, U.S.A. (1983-84), Mr. Kotey also obtained post-graduate diplomas at the University of Ghana and the Academy of Social Sciences and Management in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1980 and 1986 respectively.
At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Kotey served in the following bureaux: Information and Culture (1980-1982); Americas (1984-1985), International Organisation and Conferences (IOCB) (1985-1988), Personnel and Training (1992-1996) and Finance and Accounts (2000-2002). At the Finance and Accounts Bureau, Mr. Kotey served both as an acting Director (A2) and Director (A1). Additionally, Mr. kotey participated in a number of job-related conferences and meetings involving the United Nations and its organs, the European Union, the European Commission and the then OAU.
My. Kotey served abroad at the Ghana Permanent Mission to the United Nations, New York, USA (1988-1992), Embassy of Ghana, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (1996-2000) and the Ghana Embassy to the State of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the European Commission, Brussels, Belgium (2002-2006).
Mr. C.N.A. Kotey, a Christian (Methodist), is married with three (3) daughters.
His hobbies are listening to good music and gardening.
