Mrs. Cecilia Gyan Amoah, Ghana’ s Ambassador to Cuba


Her Execllency Mrs. Cecilia Gyan Amoah, Ghana’ s Ambassador to Cuba Her Excellency Mrs. Cecilia Gyan Amoah was born on 28th October, 1947. She obtained her Certificate "A' from Komenda Teacher Training College which she attended from 1963 to 1967. She thereafter enrolled at the Winneba College of Education in 1972 and graduated with the Specialist Teaching Certificate in Education in 1974. In 1981, she obtained the Bachelor of Education in English and Theology from the University of Botswana and Swaziland.

Ambassador Mrs. Amoah has over thirty years experience as an Educationist, having taught at the Primary school, Secondary and University levels. Mrs. Amoah started her teaching career at Ahenfro and Abrepo Methodist Primary Schools in the Ashanti Region. She went on to teach English at St. Mary's High School and English and History at Maseru High School, both in Lesotho.

From Lesotho Mrs. Amoah moved to Swaziland where she taught English for ten years, rising to the position of Head of the English Department of St. Theresa's High School. During her time in Swaziland, Mrs. Amoah also lectured part-time at the Department of Adult Education of the University of Swaziland. Mrs. Amoah concluded her teaching career in Botswana as a senior Teacher between 1991 and 2000.

In 2000, Mrs. Amoah returned to Ghana and was elected Member of Parliament for Asutifi South Constituency. She represented her constituents for four years and served them dutifully, building a reputation for hard work and commitment. Over forty years, Mrs. Amoah has travelled extensively, acquiring vast, diverse experiences and gaining valuable insight into the political and socio-cultural dynamics of many nations

Mrs. Cecilia Gyan Amoah is widowed with three children.
