Ambassador Daniel Yaw Adjei, Supervising Director, Administration Department of the Ministry, was born on 22nd November 1950 at Akwatia in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He attended Pope John's Secondary School in Koforidua from 1963 to 1967 and obtained his G.C.E. 'O' Level Certificate. He pursued his Sixth Form course at St. Peter's Secondary School at Nkwatia-Kwahu between 1967 and 1970 after which he gained admission to the University for Ghana where he read English and Linguistics. He was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1973.
After his National Service at the Osei Kyeretwei Secondary School in Kumasi where he taught English Language and Literature, Ambassador Adjei joined the Foreign Service in September 1974 as Foreign Service Officer (F.S.O) A5.
Shortly after joining the Service, Ambassador Adjei enrolled for a year's course at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, Greenhill, Achimota where he obtained a Post- Graduate Diploma in International Relations and Certificate in Public Administration in 1976. He successfully completed a two-year Post- Graduate progamme at the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, India and obtained a Master of Arts Degree in International Politics in 1988.
Ambassador Adjei has attended several other Workshops, Seminars and Courses. These include; seminar on Multi-lateral Economic Negotiations held in Geneva in October 1996, Workshop on Mediation Techniques held in Geneva, in February1997 and an International Diplomatic Seminar held in Salzburg, Austria in August, 1997. Others are: Seminar in Economic Diplomacy in Bratislava, Slovak Republic in December 1998, as well as courses in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law in Geneva in September, 1998 and an Executive Course in Management, GIMPA in July, 1995.
Ambassador Adjei has served in various capacities and in different Bureaux both inside and outside the Ministry. He worked as a schedule officer in the Inspectorate and Audit Bureau, as well as Economic Relations and Protocol Bureaux. Due to his hard work, he was seconded to the office of Chief of Staff, PNDC Headquarters for a year, and served in the Africa and OAU (AU) Bureau from 1988-1989. He served as Director of Finance and Accounts Bureau, Middle East and Asia Bureau, and Passports
At post, he has served as Ghana's Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo and also as Ghana's Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Brazil. He is married with three children and enjoys Reading, Swimming and Jogging.
