Mr. Richard oblitei Solomon, Ghana’s Ambassador to Equitorial Guinea


H.E. Mr. Richard Oblitei Solomon, Ghana’s Ambassador to Equitorial GuineaHis Excellency Mr. Richard Oblitei was born on 25th February, 1956 at Nsawam, Accra. He pursued his secondary education at Accra Academy and went on to the University of Ghana, Legon for an L. L. B (Honours). He proceeded to the Ghana Law where he obtained a Post Graduate Professional Certificate in Law. He was called to the Ghana Bar in December, 1983. In 1988, H. E. Richard Oblitei set up his own law practice, Solomon and Associates and until his present appointment in August, 2006, was Principal of the Firm. He also worked as External Lawyer for recoveries of overdue facilities for Ghana Commercial Bank Ltd, National Investment Bank Ltd. At the time of his present appointment he had just secured a similar contract with Standard Chartered Bank Ltd, Ghana.

He has been the Chairman of the Legal Committee of the Ghana Football Association. He led the G. F. A. negotiation team in concluding a three-year Black Stars sponsorship deal of US$1.0 m per year with Goldfields Ghana Ltd. He was also the Ghana Bar Association representative on the Ghana Education Service Headquarters Disciplinary Committee.

He enjoys football, wildlife, reading and music. He is married with three children.
