His Excellency Prof. Albert Owusu-Sarpong was born on 31st January, 1949, and had his secondary education at Opoku Ware Secondary School, Kumasi, and Mfanstipim School, Cape Coast. He went to the University of Ghana, Legon; Université d' Abidjan and Université de Strasbourg, France.
Prof. Albert Owusu-Sarpong was a Professor of French and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He is currently a member of the University Council, Academic Board and Chairman of the Board of Examiners of KNUST.
Ambassador Owusu-Sarpong has many publications to his credit, some of which are: "Aimé Césaire ou la force de regarder demain," in Le Griot, Vol. IV, N.2, 1996; "The Crisis and Experience of the Military in Government," in "The Statesman," March, 1992 and "The Factotum-spirited and depoliticized Army, a Moral Imperative for the Fourth Republic." in "The Statesman", June, 1992.
Married with three children, Ambassador Albert Owusu-Sarpong is a resourceful top manager and administrator with excellent linguistic and interpersonal skills. He has a flair for Strategic Planning and Policy Development, as well as a wide experience in education, teaching, general administration and in the management of projects, local government and human resource development. He also has well established international connections.
Prof. Albert Owusu-Sarpong was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ghana to the Republic of France in 2001.
