Mrs. Genevieve Tsegah was born on 8th August, 1951, and had her secondary education at Aburi Girls' Secondary School for her 'O' Level Certificate and Achimota School for her 'A' Level Certificate. She obtained a B.A. Degree in French and Spanish from the University of Ghana, Legon, and then later, in 1982, obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations from the University of Nairobi.
She joined the Foreign Service in 1977 and worked at the Information and Culture Bureau for four years. In January 1981, she was promoted to a Branch A4 Officer and moved to the Middle East and Asia Bureau. She served at the Protocol Department and also at the Americas Bureau and in 1989, became the Head of Chancery, Economic, Protocol and Information Counsellor at the Ghana Embassy in Cotonou.
In December 1993, Mrs. Tsegah was promoted to a Branch A2 Officer and became a Deputy Director for the Trade and Investment Bureau. From August 1996 to September 2000, she served as Minister Counsellor and Head of Chancery at the Ghana Embassy in Cotonou. She was promoted to a Branch A1 Officer in November 2000 and has since served in various capacities such as Director, Economic, Trade and Investment Bureau, Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Chancery, Ghana Embassy, Ouagadougou and is currently the Supervising Director for the Economic Relations Department.
She has participated in several conferences and seminars on economic development, trade and investment promotion and on regional integration, first as a Deputy Director and later as the Director of the former Economic, Trade and Investment Bureau.
She has also participated in the drafting of Permanent Joint Commission documents, the holding of the session and the implementation of the ensuing Protocols. She is married with four children and enjoys reading and traveling.
