His Excellency Mr. Grant Ohemeng Kesse was born in Kukurantumi in the Eastern Region of Ghana on 17th January, 1936. He proceeded to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi and then to the School of Planning, Nottingham, United Kingdom, where he obtained a Diploma of Imperial College. He has a Master of Science Degree in Transportation Planning, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Planning.
Mr. Grant Ohemeng Kesse worked with the United Nations Team that prepared the Ghana National Physical Development Plan in 1962. He has also served as an Assistant Town Planning Officer in charge of Planning Administration, Design and Development Control at the Accra-Tema Metropolitan Area Planning Office. In September, 1967, he assumed the position of Regional Town Planning Officer, Western Region in charge of the Planning Administration and planning of town and villages within the Region and Development Control. He has worked as Regional Town Planning Officer in charge of the Accra-Tema Metropolitan Area, and for a number of years, played the role of Secretary to the Accra Planning Committee. He has also served on Statutory Boards such as the National Playing Field Board, the Site Selection Board, the Road Safety Committee and the Site Acquisition Board. From January, 1977 to June 2006, he has been President and Programme Coordinator of Kesse-Tagoe and Associates, Planning and Development Consultants.
Ambassador Ohemang Kesse is married with six children and enjoys social work, music and football.
