His Excellency Mr. John Bentum -Williams is a Commonwealth scholar holding a B. A (Honours) Economics Degree from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He is a Financial and Investment Consultant by profession, with extensive experience in the development and Implementation of Financial or Investment packages and project management.
Mr. John Bentum-Williams has served as Chief Executive of several companies including state Gold Mining Corporation (SGMC), Social Security Bank (S.S.B Bank) and Ghana Investment Centre (now Ghana Investment Promotion Centre). He has also worked as a Consultant to Commercial institutions such as CITOH, Consultant to First Atlantic Merchant Bank, Resource personnel to UNCTAD, and also Advisor to the United Mission to Somalia (UNOSOM).
In February 1997, Mr. Bentum-Williams served as Consultant (Chief Executive Officer) to the Ghana Chamber of Mines. He later took up post as Ghana's Ambassador to Malaysia in March 2002, a position which he held till he was re-posted as Ghana's High Commissioner to India. He is married with children.
