Profile

Mr. Isaac Aggrey, was born on 22nd December, 1947 in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He was educated at the Oda Secondary School, Akim Oda from 1962 to 1967 for his G.C.E 'O' Level Certificate. Between August 1967 and June 1968, enrolled at Mfantsipim School, Cape Coast where he obtained his 'A' Level Certificate.

He proceeded to study French/Swahili at the University of Ghana, Legon where he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1973. After completing his National Service at the Nsein School in Axim in the Western Region where he taught French, Mr. Aggrey joined the Foreign Service in September, 1974 as an A5 Officer.

Shortly after joining the Service, he enrolled at the University of Nairobi in Kenya where he successfully completed his Post-Graduate Diploma Course in International Relations.

Mr Aggrey has served in various capacities in several Bureaux in the Ministry including Africa and AU, Economic Relations and Administration. He was the Acting Chief of Protocol from May 1987 to March1988.

He was also a member of Ghana's delegation to a lot of conferences and meetings including the OAU Liberation Committee meeting held in Rabat, Morocco in 1975 and in Arusha, (Tanzania) in 1976; ECOWAS Ministerial and Summit meetings held in Dakar (Senegal), in 1978 and in Lome, (Togo) in 1979. By dint of hard work, he rose through the ranks and was promoted to the position of FSO A1 in October 1998.

From August 1980 to December 1984, he was posted to Ghana's Diplomatic Mission in Bonn in the former West Germany where he served as the Head of Chancery and Counsellor in charge of Education.

In March 2002, he was posted to Ghana's Mission in Copenhagen, Denmark as the Deputy Head of Mission. In January 2003, he was cross-posted to Ghana's Diplomatic Mission in Washington, (USA) as the Deputy Chief of Mission. He was the Acting Head of Mission.

Prior to his posting to the Mission in Copenhagen, Mr. Aggrey worked at the Ministry of Finance and Public Services Commission. In 1995, he was the Acting Director of Policy Analysis, Research, Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation Division of the Commission. Mr. Aggrey is married with children.
