His Excellency Dr. Barfour Adjei-Barwuah was born on 15th December, 1942. From 1956 to 1962, he had his high school education at Prempeh College in Kumasi.
From there, he entered the University of Ghana, Legon in 1962, gradating Degree BA (Hons.) in Geography in 1965. He obtained a Master of Science and Doctorate from the University of Indiana 1972. He later proceeded to the United Kingdom for a certificate in Counselling at the Centre for Advancement in Counselling in London.
Before his appointment as Ambassador of Ghana to Japan in 2001, His Excellency Dr. Adjei-Barwuah worked as Development Advisor in London (1993-2001), Head of Faculty of A'cess and Development, London (1991-1993), Community Liaison Officer in Kent, England (1987 to 1988) and Executive Director, Ghana Tourist Board Accra, (1975-1983). He was a part time television presenter with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (1972 to 1975).
H. E. Dr. Adjei Barwuah has considerable experience in teaching in a number of Universities, both at home and abroad. He was a Lecturer/Research Fellow at the University of Ghana from 1972 to 1975, and served as Teaching Assistant (part time) at Indiana University, USA, and at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA.
Ambassador Adjei-Barwuah has a number of publications to his credit and served as Board Member and member on a number of committees both at home and in the United Kingdom.
