H. E. Mr. George Kumi, Ghana's Ambassador to Nigeria, was born on 7th September 1956 in Sunyani, in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana.
He holds a BSc Degree in Land Economy from the University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana (1982) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Lagos, Nigeria (1996).
Until his appointment in 2001as Ghana's Ambassador to Libya, H. E. Mr. George Kumi was the Chief Executive Officer of Georgio-Investment Limited, a company of Real Estate developers. Prior to this, he was a partner in Mark Odu and Company, and had also served as the District Chief Executive for Sunyani District, in the Brong Ahafo Region. In 2006, H. E. Mr. Kumi was reassigned to Nigeria as Ghana's High Commissioner. He is affiliated to a number of professional bodies both in Ghana and Nigeria, including the Ghana Institute of Surveyors and the Nigeria Institute of Management.
Ambassador Kumi is a keen sportsman and was the sports Chairman of Queens Hall, University of Science and Technology (KNUST). His other pastimes include reading and traveling.
He is married with three children.
Prior to her appointment as High Commissioner, she was a Nursing and Activities Director for Seniors Corporation, a U. S based company. Mrs. Daaku is widowed with four children, and enjoys reading Christian Literature, Crocheting and Needle work, surfing the Net and Listening to Music.
