His Excellency Alhaji Rasheed Bawa was born on 6th January, 1959 at Kadjebi, Ghana. He had his secondary education at Kadjebi Asato Secondary School and proceeded to the University of Ghana where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree. In 1986, he enrolled at the Ghana Law School where he pursued his legal studies.
Alhaji Rasheed Bawa has served in various capacities including Legal Adviser to the Ga-District Assembly, Legal Officer to the Non-Performing Assets Recovery Trust, Secretary to, and later Head of the same Trust. He has also held government positions such as Member of Parliament to the Akan Constituency, Deputy Minister for Education and Minister of state at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
In his capacity as Minister of State, he was Head of Delegation to the 2003 All African Games, where Ghana recorded 23 medals, the second highest for Ghana since 1973. He is married with four children and enjoys reading.
