Profile of His Excellency
Mr. Kwadwo Afoakowa Sarpong, High Commissioner Of Ghana To South Korea


His Excellency Mr. Kwadwo Afoakwa Sarpong was born on March 15, 1943, a native of Essienimpong in the Ejisu- Juabeng District of the Ashanti Region. He had his secondary education at Prempeh College, Kumasi, where he obtained the West Africa School Certificate.

He was a teacher at St.Joseph Middle School and a banker with the Barclays Bank in Kumasi and at Konongo from 1962 to 1969. He resigned in 1969 to pursue further studies in Marketing at the Modern Training in Management and Salesmanship, institute, Surpass House, King's Cross and Gary's Inn, London.

Ambassador Kwadwo Sarpong retuned to Ghana in 1971 to establish his own private enterprise in the import and export buisiness.

Before his appointment in 2002 as Ghana's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Mali, he was the Chief Executive of Bontum Investment, a private company which deals in general goods and industrial items. He has undertaken extensive travels on business and leisure, since 1969, to destinations in Britain, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Belguim, France and the Netherlands.

H. E. Kwadwo Afoakwa Sarpong is married with six children and is a member of the Board of Governors of Prempeh College, Kumasi, his alma mater.
