Born on February 26th 1949, His Excellency Mr. Baah-Duodu joined the Foreign Service in 1977 after obtaining B. A. (Honours) Sociology (1974) and Master of Public Administration (MBA - 1977) degrees at the University of Ghana, Legon. He did his National Service with the Department of Rural Development from 1974 -1975.
In 1979 and 1980/81, he participated in the Australian Foreign Service Training and the University of Nairobi's Diplomatic Training Programmes and was awarded a certificate in the theory and Practice of Diplomacy and a Graduate Diploma in International Relations respectively. In the 1992/1993 academic year, he became the Second African to be selected on the Diplomatic Associate Programme, which involved research and teaching in Third World Diplomacy. He participated in a Seminar/Workshop on UN Peacekeeping Operations in Harare, Zimbabwe, in 1999.
H. E. Mr. Baah-Duodu has served in the Finance and Accounts Bureau (1977 -1978), the Europe and Americas (1978 -1979) and the International Organizations and Conferences Bureaux (1981-1985 and 1989-1992) of the Ministry. He concurrently served as Acting Director/Finance and Accounts and Director, Accra International Conference Centre (1997-1999), prior to his posting to Seoul, Republic of Korea, where he opened the Ghana Embassy in that country. He served in Korea as Charge d'Affaires from 1999 to 2001. He was cross-posted to London when a substantive Head of Mission was appointed for Seoul. While in London he served as the Deputy High Commissioner for three years (2001 - 2004). Prior to his assumption of duty in Switzerland, he had previously served in Ghana's Missions in Geneva, (Switzerland) (1985 - 1989) and New Delhi, India (1993 - 1997). He also served in London, United Kingdom for three years (2001- 2004) as Deputy High Commissioner.
Mr. Kwabana Baah-Doudu was Director of the Africa and African Union Bureau from December 21st 2004 to 11th March, 2006H. E. Mr. Baah-Duodu has attended many UNCTAD, ILO, UN Disarmament, Commonwealth, Non-Aligned Movement, IAEA, African Union and ECOWAS Conferences. Mr. Baah-Duodu is married with four children and his hobbies are lawn tennis, reading and listening to music from all over the world.
